Vibrated Aggregate Piers

A ground improvement solution for
foundation support.

Vibrated aggregate piers (or stone columns) can be installed below foundations to increase the bearing capacity of existing ground. If the existing earth material on site is found by a geotechnical engineer to be insufficient to support concrete spread footers, then aggregate piers may be a solution.

The process involves drilling a hole in the ground, filling with lifts of crushed stone, and vibrating each lift to compact with an excavator-mounted attachment.
