SAFETY
Your safety, the safety of the public and of our employees is of paramount importance.
Safety is not just a matter of luck, but a matter of education, planning and discipline. Heavy construction is frequently dangerous work for the unplanned, untrained and undisciplined workforce. The risk can be mitigated by the commitment of the whole organization. George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is committed to being a stable employer and providing reliable services to our customers. Safety is part of that commitment.
The State of Ohio mandates Workers' Compensation programs which are administered and audited in accordance with strict regulations. Igel has demonstrated the fiscal stability and commitment to be approved for self insurance by the State of Ohio.
Safety Training
We don't take the motto "Safety is not a matter of luck" lightly.
- Safety training is mandatory for all applicable levels of management within the company. Each day, tasks are defined and analyzed for the crew to recognize hazards and mitigate accidents.
- Our Supervisors and foremen also maintain certifications in CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30 Hour training.
- All employees with over 12 months employment with the company are certified with 10 hours OSHA training or equivalent.
